How to Get Master Skill Material

Master Skill Material is one of the most important items in Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL, especially when it comes to upgrading your Ultra Rare Ace Monster Cards, granting them new skills and powers that can really turn the tide of a duel.

As such, it's also one of the rarest upgrade items to acquire in the game, however we've compiled a list of locations and activities you can complete to obtain Master Skill Material as quickly and efficiently as possible!

The Shop:

10 Master Skill Material can be purchased from the Medals Shop on a monthly rotation. This is the most consistent way to get these items - and will be essential in completing the Beginner Mission which rewards 10 further Master Skill Material. Make sure to check back each monthly reset period to obtain any materials you still need.

Tag Duels:

With Tag Duels being the main PVE mode, every Master Skill Material you earn in this mode is limited - only available to be earned once. A total of 10 Master Skill Material is able to be obtained by reaching 5360 Tag Points Cumulative Rewards (Overall) and per Series, a further 2 Master Skill Material can be obtained. It is anticipated as more characters are added more rewards will become available to earn.

Ranked Duels:

Playing Ranked Matches is probably the easiest way to farm for Master Skill Material - but only if you’re consistently winning games. There are only a total of 4 Master Skill Material obtainable from Cumulative Season Rewards, which reset after each Ranked Duels season ends.

The rest of your Master Skill Material will come from Battle Rewards vai Gold Treasure Boxes. After reaching 100 Gold Battle Points, you will obtain three random rewards from the lineup. One of which is a Maximum of 3 Master Skill Material. Like Gems, you can receive multiple of these per Treasure Box, meaning a theoretical maximum of 9 Master Skill Material from a single Gold Treasure Box - but you’ll need to be lucky!

Raid Duels:

Cumulative Season Rewards, which reset at the beginning of a new Season will earn you a total of 6 Master Skill Material. In addition you will also gain rewards after successfully defeating a Raid Boss in a Duel. The higher the Raid Boss Level - the higher the maximum number of Master Skill Material which can be obtained (Level 1-5 cannot obtain Master Skill Material, But 6-15 and 16-25 can obtain a Maximum of 1 and 2 respectively).

Missions:

Master Skill Material can also be obtained by completing specific Missions (for example, a total of 10 obtainable via Beginner Missions when first starting the game) and will be obtained naturally throughout your time playing Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL. Sometimes Konami will add special Limited-Time Missions which reward Master Skill Material, and weekly you can earn 1 Master Skill Material by completing all Weekly Missions, which are pretty straight forward to complete.

Events:

It is expected that Master Skill Material and other items will form part of the reward structure for future Events in Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL, however these have yet to start as of Pre-Season 1 ending.
